What's the most-misread book in our tradition?

For Right-Wing Nationalist, I'd argue it's the one everyone cites and almost no one finishes. The skim reading turns into orthodoxy and the actual nuance gets lost.

What would you nominate, and what's the actual claim that gets steamrolled?

The empirical claim is doing too much work. Strip it out and the argument still holds, but more honestly.
