The Idea

What Francoist actually means.

Francoism was an authoritarian regime led by General Francisco Franco in Spain (1939–1975). It maintained absolute control over executive, legislative, and judicial powers, suppressing political opposition and censoring dissent.

Franco ruled by decree, with no effective checks or balances. The regime employed censorship, secret police, and imprisonment (or worse) for dissenters.
